The Symphony’s Ice Cream Social was a Sweet Event

About 200 people made their way to Library park in downtown Fort Collins on September 15 to eat delicious gourmet ice cream, cupcakes and to sit in the park as the Symphony’s polka trio played tunes one might hear in a park in Vienna on a beautiful fall afternoon.

For the youngest attendees Philomusica, the European music school, had an instrumental ‘petting zoo’ set up, allowing children to try out a tiny drum set, violin, keyboard and much more. Children were also treated to face painting.

The Ice Cream Social was the first of the Fort Collins Symphony’s Outside theBox series—ten exciting new, cutting-edge events designed to reach out to broader audiences.

Special thanks to sponsor Heather Myers of Waddell & Reed, Gunter and Nicolette Bischof of Philomusica, Kilwins and Butter Cream Cupcakery. Thanks also to Kayla Fischer and Sierra Tamkun who did the face painting.
